Tie Layers/Resin

Tie layers or tie resins are a type of material used to bond two different types of plastics together. They are essential in multi-layer packaging applications, where different layers of plastics need to be bonded together to create a barrier against moisture, oxygen, and other external factors. Tie layers act as an adhesive between two different layers of plastics that would otherwise not adhere well to each other. We offer maleic acid-grafted resins that are able to bond polyethylene (PE) to other materials, such as polyamide (PA) or ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH).

Bio-Based and Bio-Degradable

Bio-based and biodegradable materials are becoming increasingly important due to their potential to address some of the environmental problems associated with conventional plastics. Bio-based materials are made from renewable resources, such as corn, sugarcane, or other plant-based materials. Use of these types of resources helps reduce the dependence on fossil fuels and the production footprint. Biodegradable materials, on the other hand, can break down into harmless materials through natural processes, such as decomposition, biodegradation, or composting.
